Many MegaGate email subscribers received a fraudulent email requesting them to fill out a form that included their email address and password. The sender was attempting to gain access to email accounts in hope of sending SPAM from and to the compromised accounts. We suspect that the sender harvested MegaGate email accounts from websites across the Internet or purchased such a list.
In no way did the sender compromise our mail servers to obtain email addresses.
MegaGate will never send an email requesting you to respond with sensitive account information such as a password.
All of us need to be wary of email scams. The best personal policy is to never share your account login information with anyone. When you suspect foul play call or email MegaGate support. Finally, never respond to suspicious emails.
Please let us know if you have any questions regarding this incident.
Thank you,
